Nick Coventry (violin) has been described as a gentleman scholar but most often is described as a ribald gambler and collector of hats. He comes from a musical family and possibly has some gypsy blood, (from his Sicilian Grandmother?). At age 13 he started listening to and copying the legendary violinist Stephane Grapelli and has been into gypsy jazz ever since. Nick teaches music for a living and spends most of his time rehearsing and performing with several other groups in Santa Barbara.
